Antalya, Leader in Solar Energy Production
Antalya, with an average annual sunshine duration of nearly 2,900 hours and high radiation values, ranks among the most efficient regions in Turkey for electricity generation from solar panels. The region's average annual sunshine intensity, reaching 1,600–1,800 kWh/m², ensures extremely high efficiency in both residential rooftop applications and land-based solar power plant projects. These values, significantly above the European average, shorten investment return periods.
The operating performance of panels in solar energy systems varies depending on technical criteria such as temperature coefficient, panel tilt angle, and radiation intensity. Antalya's climate allows panels to be positioned at the ideal angle of 25–30 degrees, maximizing annual production. Furthermore, thanks to the region's low cloud cover, monocrystalline panels can achieve efficiency in the 18–22% range. This translates to an average annual electricity production of 15,000–17,000 kWh for a 10 kW rooftop system.
According to energy sector experts, Antalya stands out not only for its existing potential but also for its increasing investment trend. Thanks to renewable energy incentives and developing technology, more efficient inverters, low-loss cable infrastructures, and high-strength panel mounting systems are now available. This significantly reduces electricity costs for businesses and homeowners in the region, while also contributing significantly to sustainable energy production.
